World Cup 2010 European Qualifier Group Eight Schedule for Oct. 15
World Cup qualifying action for Group Eight in the European qualifier picks up on Wednesday with several key matches that will continue to clear the picture of who gets their ticket punched for South Africa in 2010. Italy sits atop the group with seven points but Ireland is right behind with four points and one less game than Italy.
Georgia is coming off their first points in group play after drawing with Cyprus on Sunday and they’ll face Bulgaria on Wednesday, a country that has earned two draws in both their matches.
Ireland has a chance to jump atop the group when they face Cyprus. With a win and a draw Ireland will certainly be looking for a second win when they take on a Cyprus side that has scored two goals in their two matches.
Italy is coming off a draw against Bulgaria on Sunday after beating Cyprus and Georgia in earlier action. They’ll be facing a Montenegro side that has two draws in two matches and has shown solid defense in both matches.
