A US toddler had to be freed by the fire brigade after becoming trapped in a toy machine in a busy mall.

The little girl is thought to have climbed up the chute into which the prizes are usually dispatched and became stuck for 15 minutes.

Patrons quickly realized she wasn’t one of the cuddly toy prizes and called the fire brigade  - who used a tool to pry open the door and free to tot.

Local Fire Chief Paul Kashmer said the child didn't appear to have been upset by the incident and revealed she had been sitting peacefully inside the machine.

He said he and his crew arrived to find “the cutest little girl in a pink outfit sucking her binky [dummy] inside with the other toys.”
