Adam "Pacman" Jones Suspended Indefinitely by NFL for Hotel Fight

The NFL has suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones indefinitely on Tuesday after he was involved in a hotel altercation last week.

Jones' suspension will be for at least four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to an NFL statement on Tuesday.

Jones was involved in an alcohol-related incident at a Dallas hotel on Oct. 8. Previous reports indicated Jones was involved in an alcohol-related fight at the Joule Hotel in Dallas with a bodyguard assigned to him by the Cowboys, and hotel employees called the police.

There was no police report filed regarding the incident. No one was arrested and no one will be charged in connection with the fight.

Jones will not be paid during the suspension. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will determine the ultimate length of Jones' suspension after Dallas' Week 11 game against their archrivals, the Washington Redskins on Nov. 16.

In a letter regarding Jones' suspension, Goodell said Jones' "disturbing pattern of behavior was clearly inconsistent with the conditions I set for your continued participation in the NFL."

Jones formally apologized to the Cowboys organization and his teammates after the incident. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that Jones has been given no benefit of the doubt since coming to the team based on his past actions, but the team was not going to reprimand him for the incident.

Jones joined the Cowboys under close scrutiny by the league after he was suspended for the entire 2007 season for multiple violations of the conduct policy while playing for the Tennessee Titans. The Cowboys traded for Jones before his suspension was over and he was reinstated by Goodell on Aug. 28.
