2008 American Music Awards Nominees List Headed by Alicia Keys with Five, Coldplay Up for Four Awards

The 2008 American Music Awards has announced its nominees for their November 23^rd Los Angeles show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Alicia Keys is heading the list with five nods while Coldplay received four nominations.

Keys and Coldplay were each nominated for Artist of the Year and are joined by Chris Brown, the Eagles and Lil Wayne.

Keys was also nominated for Favorite Female Artist (Pop or Rock), Favorite Album (Pop or Rock), Favorite Female Artist (Soul/ Rhythm & Blues) and Favorite Album (Soul/ Rhythm & Blues).

Coldplay picked up nominations for Favorite Band (Pop or Rock), Favorite Album (Pop or Rock) and

Favorite Artist (Alternative Rock).

Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks and Rascal Flatts are each up for a two AMAs in country music with all three nominated for Favorite Album while Underwood was nominated for Favorite Female Artist, Brooks was nominated as Favorite Male Artist and Rascal Flatts was nominated as Favorite Band.
