Seve Ballesteros Undergoes Brain Operation, Recovering in Intensive Care

Seve Ballesteros, two-time Masters champion and three-time Open Championship title-holder, underwent a 12-hour operation to remove a brain tumor and is now said to be in stable condition and recovering in intensive care.

Over the weekend doctors at the La Paz hospital in Madrid discovered Ballesteros was suffering from a brain tumor after he was admitted to the hospital following an episode in which he lost consciousness.

Ballesteros, 51, is said to be conscious but will not be able to see visitors until he has recovered from the surgery.

Doctors will analyze the tumor to determine what line of treatment Ballesteros will undergo.
