Casey Anthony Indicted by Grand Jury for Murder of Missing Daughter Caylee

Casey Anthony was indicted by a Florida grand jury on Wednesday on seven counts for the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and four counts of providing false information to police. Prosecutors are asking Anthony be held without bond.

Anthony was taken to jail after officers observed her switch cars on a highway and pulled her over. Undercover police followed her as she rode in her mother's SUV. As the SUV went under a highway overpass, Anthony got into another car and drove off. Officers made the traffic stop after she entered the second vehicle.

The 19 grand jurors (10 women and nine men) deliberated for about half an hour after hearing the evidence in the case. Police presented the forensic evidence from Anthony's trunk, in which they found chloroform and remnants of a decomposed body.

Caylee went missing in June, but her mother Casey did not report the disappearance until a month later. Reports from her cell phone said that she never mentioned her missing daughter in her text messages to her friends during the month of June and July.

The case of missing Caylee and the erratic behavior of Casey has become a national story for months. Police believe that Casey is a habitual liar and that she knows exactly what happened to her daughter.
