Motivating Teens in High School a Key to Getting into College

Motivating teens to excel in high school is a major focus of SuperCamp, a unique learning and life skills summer enrichment program that helps students understand the importance of setting and pursuing goals.

Teen motivation is a hot topic among parents and educators who realize that it's become increasingly more difficult for students to get into college given the more stringent admission standards at most schools in light of the economy impacting staffing and enrollment limits.

SuperCamp helps inspire teens in ways that teachers and parents find it difficult to do. In SuperCamp's 10-day summer program for high school students, campers feel safe and the instructors gain the trust of the students. Once a level of trust is attained, the SuperCamp facilitators are able to delve into issues of commitment, ownership, making the most of every moment and not giving up.

SuperCamp also provides academic help to students in the form of powerful new learning skills that benefit them in such areas as critical thinking, test preparation, reading comprehension, creative writing and problem solving.

These educational summer camps have helped over 56,000 students since 1982. The balance of learning skills and life skills training enables SuperCamp to help develop the whole person, not just one narrow academic or personal area.

In 2011, SuperCamp is being held from late June through mid August at eight schools across the U.S., including UCLA, Brown, Wake Forest, and Stanford. All eight locations will host at least one high school camp, while most of the venues also will hold one or more summer study programs for middle school students.

SuperCamp also runs one summer program for incoming and current college students. Quantum U is a 7-day program that will run at UCLA in Los Angeles. More information on all programs can be found at the company website and by calling 800-285-3276.
