Nucor
Corporation (NYSE:NUE) added 0.58% to $43.61. The company said that it
expects a fourth-quarter loss of 10 cents a share to 15 cents a share. Wall
Street analysts expected the steel maker to earn 9 cents a share, according to
a survey by FactSet Research.
The
stock has average daily volume of 4.29 million shares. At current market price,
the market capitalization of the company stands at $13.77 billion.
Actuant
Corporation (NYSE:ATU) dropped 5.20% to $26.23. The company said that that
it earned $25.9 million, or 35 cents a share in its fiscal first quarter ended
November 30, compared to $11.9 million, or 19 cents a share a year ago. Net
sales during the quarter were $318.4 million, versus $272.6 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by FactSet Research had, on average, expected the
company to earn 35 cents a share.
The
stock opened at $27.67 and is trading within the range of $26.07-$27.73. The
stock soared more than 41% year-to-date.
General
Mills, Inc. (NYSE:GIS) gained 1.07% to $36.77. The company said
Thursday its second-quarter net income rose 9% to $613.9 million, or 92 cents a
share, from $565.5 million, or 83 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
Adjusted net income fell to 76 cents a share, from 77 cents a share. The food giant's
revenue rose 0.8% to $4.1 billion.
Wall Street analysts expected General Mills to earn 78 cents a
share, on revenue of $4.1 billion, according to a survey by FactSet Research.
The stock has average daily volume of 4.57 million shares.
