AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #9 BYU Cougars Take on TCU Horned Frogs
The #9 Brigham Young Cougars will take on the TCU Horned Frogs on Thursday night at 8pm EST on ESPN.
BYU (6-0, 2-0 Mountain West) is the highest-ranked non-BCS conference team in the AP Top 25 college football rankings. They look to continue the nation's longest win streak.
Along with two shutouts, the Cougars have outscored their opponents 137-14 in a three game span . Their potent offense is led by quarterback Max Hall, who is seventh in passing efficiency and 10th in total offense. His favorite target is Austin Collie, who is fifth in the nation in receptions per game and second in receiving yards per game.
BYU's offense is ranked in the top 20 in the nation in every major offensive category, except for rushing offense (72nd).
On defense, BYU is also impressive. They boast the nation's second-best scoring defense and are ninth in tackles for loss.
However, TCU (6-1, 2-0 Mountain West) has the best defense in the Mountain West Conference arguably the best in the nation. TCU is first in the nation in total defense, rushing defense and sacks. They are second in tackles for loss and ninth in scoring defense.
On offense, they are led by two quarterbacks: Andy Dalton and Marcus Jackson. Dalton leads the team in passing yards, while Jackson, a dual-threat quarterback, leads the team in rushing.
Dalton suffered a knee injury against Oklahoma and has sat out the last two games, but he might be available for the BYU game.
