British Couple Handed 3 Month Sentence in Dubai for Sex on Beach

The highly publicized case surrounding a British man and woman caught having sex on a Dubai beach became even more intense when the pair were handed a three-month sentence to be served in a UAE jail before they are deported.

Michelle Palmer, 36, and Vince Acors, 34, were arrested on July 5 and charged with public indecency and premarital sex as well as public intoxication. .

The defense lawyer representing the pair insisted the two were innocent of the charges but expressed no surprise in the verdict. Hassan Matter said “I think I have a chance in the appeal court. I have 15 days to appeal. I have to find the reason why the judge gave three months.”
