AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #1 Texas Longhorns Battles #11 Missouri Tigers in Big 12 Matchup

The #1 Texas Longhorns will take on the #11 Missouri Tigers in this tough Big 12 matchup on Saturday at 8pm EST.

Texas (6-0, 2-0 Big 12) moved up four spots to No. 1 after defeating their archrivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, 45-35, in the Red River Shootout. The Sooners were ranked No. 1, but fell to No. 4 after the loss.

Texas now moves into the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 college football rankings for the first time since 1984.

The win skyrocketed quarterback Colt McCoy as a frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy. McCoy leads the nation in completion percentage and leads the Longhorns in rushing yards. In the second consecutive week, McCoy will be embroiled in a quarterback matchup of Heisman candidates within the Big 12.

Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel was considered by many to be the frontrunner for the Heisman heading into last weekend. The Tigers were ranked No. 3, but were upset by No. 17 Oklahoma State in a game in which Daniel had a season-high three interceptions.

Daniel is still high on the Heisman list, accompanied by his wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, one of the nation's best dual-threats. Daniel, a native of suburban Dallas, will have a homecoming as he returns to his home state.
