World Cup 2010 European Qualifier Group Eight Scores for Oct. 15
The battle for supremacy in Group Eight of the 2010 European qualifier has continued to be a two-country effort as Italy and Ireland each earned wins on Wednesday and have separated from the pack, the two are the only sides that have actually picked up wins.
Ireland took care of business against Cyprus, picking up a 1-0 win to move to seven points in group play and eye a spot in the next round of competition. They have yet to lose a match and still have a game in hand over Italy.
Italy collected a 2-1 win over Montenegro to move to ten points in group action after four matches. Their only draw came against Bulgaria.
For Bulgaria it was more of the same on Wednesday as they played to their third draw in three matches, tying Georgia 0-0 and now have three points.
