AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #12 Ohio State Buckeyes Battle #20 Michigan State Spartans

#12 Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the #20 Michigan State Spartans in a Big Ten matchup on Saturday at 3:30pm EST.

The Buckeyes (5-1, 3-0 Big Ten) are looking to win their fourth consecutive Big Ten title and go to their third straight BCS national championship game. Unfortunately, Ohio State has lost the last two national championships, both to SEC teams (Florida in 2006 and LSU in 2007).

Ohio State hit a big snag early on with a 35-3 loss to then-No. 1 USC Trojans, but have continued their winning ways since. They have replaced Todd Boeckman as the starting quarterback with freshman phenom Terrelle Pryor and Chris "Beanie" Wells has returned from a foot injury that had him sit out three games.

Although Pryor has played well as a dual-threat, the Buckeyes are dead-last in the Big 10 in passing offense and second-to-last in total offense.

Wells entered the season, considered by many to be the best running back in the nation. Although Wells has missed three games, he has gained 479 yards and five TDs this season. If he was allowed to be compared in national statistics, Wells would be 10th in the nation in rushing yards per game (119.75).

In Wells' absence, Michigan State running Javon Ringer has been the consensus pick as the nation's best running back. Ringer has 247 carries for 1,112 yards and 14 TDs, ranking him first in the nation in all three. He is second in the nation in rushing yards per game and all-purpose yardage per game.

Michigan State (5-1, 3-0 Big Ten) is on a six-game winning streak after losing their opening game to California, 38-31.
