North Korea Reseals Nuclear Plant in Yongbyon

Just days after the United States removed North Korea from a list of countries sponsoring terrorism the nuclear equipment at the Yongbyon plant has been resealed and surveillance devices reinstalled.

North Korea had agreed to a nuclear disarmament deal in a pact with six countries that would have provided aid as well as had their name removed from a list of terrorism sponsors.

While North Korea shut down their nuclear program in Yongbyon the United States refused to remove them from the list. North Korea then announced they would reopen the plant and begin reprocessing material that could be used for nuclear weapons and refused entry to monitors working with the UN nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency.

Following the U.S. decision to remove North Korea from the list the country quickly announced they would close the Yongbyon plant.
