Explosion at McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle and Fordham Law Firm Kills 1

An explosion at a Dalton, Georgia law firm Friday morning killed at least one person and left four others injured. Authorities say the blast at McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle and Fordham Law Offices was caused by some type of explosion device.

Dalton police Lt. Bruce Frazier said there is a “person of interest” in the case. No arrests have been made. A man named Lloyd Cantrell was reportedly questioned.

Just before the explosion, which occurred around 10 a.m., there was an altercation at the office. It is unclear what exactly happened and if the altercation had anything to do with the blast.

The firm specializes in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Attorney James Phillips suffered severe burns. He was airlifted to the Still Burn Center in August, the same burn center that recently treated former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and his friend Adam Goldstein.

The three other victims, who have not been identified, are in stable condition at Hamilton Medical Center.
