Human Rights First Condemns Amman Terrorist Attacks

Human Rights First condemns yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Amman, Jordan, as well as the individuals responsible for them. We express our solidarity with the victims. Targeting civilians, whether in war or in peacetime, is a criminal act punishable under Jordanian law. Widespread and systematic attacks directed against a civilian population are also crimes against humanity, punishable under international law. Human Rights First urges cooperation between Jordanian authorities and the international community to do whatever is reasonable and necessary, within applicable legal frameworks that respect international human rights principles and rules, to bring to justice the individuals responsible for these attacks.
