U.S. President George Bush to Host Financial Talks with French President Nicolas Sarlozy and EC President Jose Manuel Barroso

U.S. President George Bush will host talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in an effort to shape talks concerning the financial crisis that has devastated many of the world’s major economies.

The talks, to be held at Camp David, come ahead of November’s planned G8 summit where the current financial regulatory systems are expected to be addressed. Much of Europe have been in favor of stricter regulation and have blamed the current crisis on the failure of the U.S. to effectively regulate the investment banking sector tied to mortgages.

Sarkozy has moved away from placing blame, noting the focus should be on finding a solution to the crisis. He has expressed a desire to form a partnership with the U.S. in an effort to overhaul the current system.
