AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #2 Alabama Crimson Tide Avoid Upset Bid by Ole Miss.

John Parker Wilson passed for 219 yards and two touchdowns, Mark Ingram rushed for 73 yards and a TD and Mike McCoy had 45 yards receiving and a touchdown as the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide (7-0, 4-0) built a 24-3 lead and held on to beat the Mississippi Rebels (3-4, 1-3) in SEC action on Saturday.

Mississippi put the first points on the board with a 25-yard field goal from Joshua Shene but the rest of the first half was dominated by the Crimson Tide as Wilson hit Marquis Maze on a 26-yard touchdown to answer the field goal and in the second quarter Ingram scored on a 2-yard run, Leigh Tiffin kicked a 41-yard field goal and Wilson closed the half with a 30-yard toss to McCoy.

The Rebels came out in the third quarter and quickly put seven on the board on a Rob Park 9-yard toss to Jason Cook on a fake field-goal to cut their deficit to 24-10 and then trimmed it even further with a Jevan Snead 17-yard touchdown pass to Shay Hodge. Shene then booted a 35-yard field goal with 6:09 left in the game and the Rebels were down 24-20.

Mississippi had the ball late in the game and had a chance to take the lead with a touchdown but the Alabama defense stepped up and held the Rebels on a fourth and 5 to end the game.

Alabama will travel to Tennessee next week while Ole Miss. takes on Arkansas.
