AP Top 25 Rankings Week 8: Texas Longhorns Unanimous #1 as Alabama, Penn State, Oklahoma and Florida Round Out Top Five
Following a week that shook up the AP Top 25 the past week of college football action saw relatively few changes in the top spots as the Texas Longhorns remain #1 after blasting then #11 Missouri 56-31 while the rest of the top six landed in their same position with wins.
The Alabama Crimson Tide stayed at #2 with a 24-20 victory over Ole Miss. while Penn State put a 46-17 beating on the Michigan Wolverines to remain at #3 in the AP Top 25.
Backed by a huge day from Sam Bradford the Oklahoma Sooners rolled over then #16 Kansas 45-31 to keep their spot at #4 and while the Florida Gators had the week off they kept their #5 ranking for another week.
While the top teams didn’t shift much the rest of the AP Top 25 had some major changes as six teams fell from the rankings with new entrants Georgia Tech, Tulsa, Boston College, Florida State, Minnesota, and TCU which entered at #15.
