NFL Scores Week 7: Chicago Bears Pick Up Big NFC Win Against Minnesota Vikings

Kyle Orton threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns, Marty Booker had 79 yards receiving and a TD, and the Chicago Bears (4-3) picked off Minnesota Vikings (3-4) quarterback Gus Frerotte four times and scored on a muffed punt, a fumble recovery in the endzone and a blocked punt to win 48-41 on Sunday.

Minnesota got on the board first on an Adrian Peterson one-yard touchdown run but Orton evened the score with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen and then Garrett Wolfe returned a blocked punt 17 yards for a touchdown to give the Bears a 14-7 lead. The Vikings would tie the score before the end of the first half when Frerotte hit Visanthe Shiancoe on a 24-yard toss.

After both teams traded field goals in the second quarter Zackary Bowman recovered a muffed punt in the endzone as eth bears jumped to a 24-17 advantage but Chester Arthur found the endzone on a one-yard run with 22 seconds left in the half to tie the game for Minnesota. Chicago made the most of the remaining time and Robbie Gould closed the half with a 48-yard field goal as the Bears held a 27-24 lead.

Rashied Davis gave the Bears some breathing room in the third quarter when he recovered a fumble in the endzone but Peterson scored his second touchdown of the game on a 54-yard run to keep the Vikings within three. Orton answered the Vikings score with a 51-yard quick strike to Booker and the Bears carried a 41-31 lead into the fourth.

Matt Forte then gave the Bears a 48-31 early in the fourth with a one-yard TD run and Chicago managed to hold on for the win despite a late run by the Vikings.
