UN Worker in Somalia Assassinated in Southern Town of Hudur

For the second time in three days a UN worker in Somalia has been killed by what officials are calling trained assassins.

The UN worker was employed by the children’s charity UNICEF in the southern town of Hudur. Details of the attack have not been released but reports have indicated the worker was shot several times in the head and chest.

Assassinations of aid workers in Somalia have skyrocketed over the past year with at least 28 deaths reported this year.
