At least Five Children Killed in Suicide Blast in Northern Afghanistan

A NATO-led patrol in northern Afghanistan was targeted by a suicide bomber but the blast left at least five children dead along with two soldiers.

The suicide bombing took place in the Kunduz province in the Chahar Dara district and according to the governor of the province the two soldiers killed were German nationals.

Earlier Nato’s International Security Assistance Force admitted civilians may have been killed in an airstrike that was conducted last week in Helmand province but stressed if there were civilians killed it was because insurgents had been using them as shields.
