Terrelle Pryor Takes on Hometown Penn State Nittany Lions Saturday
Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor will face his hometown Penn State on Saturday, marking the first time in his career that he will play against an in-state rival.
Pryor, who is from Jeannette, PA, will face his toughest battle of the season as the #10 Buckeyes take on the #3 Nittany Lions in a game with national championship implications.
The winner of the OSU-PSU game can ultimately become one of the teams in the BCS national champioship game in January. Both teams have undefeated conference records (4-0).
Pryor, the nation's top high school player last year, had arguably the most-hyped recruiting process in recent history and became a YouTube sensation. His final list included Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.
After selecting OSU, it is easy to see why this rivalry has an added edge to it as the Buckeyes took Pryor from Jeannette, a suburb of Pittsburgh which is 120 miles away from State College.
Similar to his high school career, Pryor has showcased his dual-threat ability as a running quarterback. Pryor was named the Ohio State starter over Todd Boeckman after their embarrassing 35-3 loss to USC, becoming the first true freshman to start for the Buckeyes in 30 years. Pryor has been starting (and winning) ever since, leading the Buckeyes to a 5-0 record.
Pryor has rushed for 282 yards on 63 carries (4.48 ypc) and has completed 48-of-73 passes for 566 yards as the starter. He has 411 rushing yards and 653 rushing yards total this season.
