Former child actor Skyler Deleon, who had a small part in ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,’ was convicted Monday in the murder of a couple who were tied to an anchor and thrown in the ocean and one other man. Skyler Deleon was found guilty on three counts of first degree murder and special circumstances for financial gain and multiple victims.
Deleon and two other men pretended to be interest in buying Tom and Jackie Hawks yacht in 2004. The couple took Deleon and the men out for a cruise off the coast of California when they were overpowered and forced to sign over ownership of the boat. The Hawks’ were then tied to an anchor and dumped in the Pacific Ocean. Their bodies were never found.
The 29-year-old was also found guilty of the murder of Jon Jarvi in 2003. Deleon met Jarvi in a work furlough program while serving time in prison for burglary charges. After Jarvi gave him $50,000, Deleon killed him.
Deleon’s attorney is requesting that the jury not give his client the death penalty as he has had a “horrible, horrible life.”
