Jeremy Tyler, considered by many to be the nation's next big high school basketball superstar, verbally committed to Louisville last week.
Tyler, who stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 240 pounds, committed to Rick Pitino's program last Sunday. The junior at San Diego (CA) High School has been considered the top player in the class of 2010 and one of the biggest stars in high school basketball.
Currently, Tyler, a five-star recruit, is ranked No. 9 in the class by Rivals.com, as well as the No. 4 power forward.
Tyler chose the Cardinals over offers from UCLA, Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, USC, and North Carolina. He averaged 18 points, 14.5 rebounds and 7.7 blocks while shooting 51 percent from the field last season. He was named California's sophomore of the year.
Last season, Tyler led the Cavers to a 23-5 record in 2007-08 and won the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section Division I crown for the first time in 33 years.
In September, it was reported that Tyler would be featured in his own documentary TV show tentatively titled "My Life: with Jeremy Tyler", which will be similar to the classic movie "Hoop Dreams".
Louisville also has a verbal pledge from four-star forward Josh Langford, a 6-6 prospect from J.O. Johnson H.S. in Huntsville, Alabama.
