Kerry Katona, former 'Coronation Street' star Steven Arnold and Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe have been confirmed for 'Dancing On Ice'.
The trio will join an all-star cast in what will be the ITV1 show's
biggest ever line-up, with a total of 16 contestants donning their ice
skates ahead of the launch of the sixth series on January 9.
In addition to Steven - whose alter-ego Ashley Peacock was recently
killed off 'Coronation Street' - a whole host of other TV stars have
signed up to take part in the show, including 'EastEnders' actor Sam
Attwater, former 'Neighbours' hunk Craig McLachlan and opinionated
'Loose Women' panellist Denise Welch.
Meanwhile, presenters Chloe Madeley - the daughter of daytime TV
legends Richard and Judy - Jeff Brazier, Nadia Sawalha, Laura Hamilton
and newshound Angela Rippon have also signed up for the series.
Ex-WAG Elen Rivas, rapper Vanilla Ice, Radio 1 star Comedy Dave,
cricketer Dominic Cork and Victoria Cross hero Johnson Beharry complete
the 16-star line-up.
However, cheeky Kerry Katona has already admitted she plans to play
pranks on her fellow contestants to guarantee her success in the
skating competition.
She joked: "I am thinking about putting a load of oil on the ice before they go on, to make it even more slippery!"
With the contestants having been in training since October, Jennifer
Metcalfe - who plays feisty Mercedes McQueen in Channel 4 soap
'Hollyoaks' - admitted she was hoping to shift some pounds after
participating in the rigorous schedule.
She said: "I'm not a dancer but I did baton-twirling for nine years and
cheerleading, so that might help me. I signed up to get a tighter bum
but so far I've only got fatter."
However, as part of a shock change to the show's format, the 16
celebrity contestants will be whittled down to just 12 in weeks one and
two of the competition.
