Patriots' Rodney Harrison Suffers Season-Ending Quad Injury

New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison suffered a season-ending injury on Monday Night Football, giving the Pats their second big season-ending injury of the season.

Harrison, the veteran All-Pro safety, has been diagnosed with a torn quadriceps muscle in his right leg and will not play again this season.

NFL.com, ESPN.com and The Boston Globe reported the story Tuesday. The Patriots have yet to confirm the news.

Harrison was carted off the field on the final play of the third quarter of New England's 41-7 rout of the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

Patriots running back Sammy Morris also hurt his knee in the first half after rushing for a career-high 138 yards. Morris' status is unknown.

The Pats placed running back Laurence Maroney on the injured reserve list with a shoulder problem, ending his season on Monday.

Tom Brady, the 2008 NFL MVP, suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Patriots' opening game this season. He was placed on injured reserve after suffering tears in the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee.
