Austrian “Dungeon Dad” Joseph Fritzl Says He Was “Born to Rape”

Joseph Fritzl, the Austrian man who stands accused of imprisoning his own daughter in a basement for 24 years and fathering seven children with her, has reportedly told a psychiatrist that he was “born to rape.”

According to psychiatrist Adelheid Kastner, Fritzl’s “childhood made him susceptible to an emotional handicap," which in turn created his need "to possess an entire human being.”

The 73-year-old Fritzl locked his oldest daughter Elisabeth in the cellar of his house for more than two decades and over that time he fathered seven children, one of the children was believed to have died shortly after birth while three of the children were allowed to live in the house and the other three remained locked below.

In April the oldest child, Kerstin, became seriously ill and was taken to a hospital. Within a short period of time the horror story that had been kept a secret for all those years became known and Fritzl was arrested.

Fritz hasl admitted to keep his daughter and children locked away and described himself as a “flood of destructive lava that was barely controllable.”
