Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima have jetted to Argentina for Christmas Day in the sun.
The Dutch royal couple and their three daughters Amalia, six, Alexia,
five, and Ariane, three, have been spotted in the beautiful gardens of
a palace in the Andes mountains enjoying their festive break away from
snowy Holland.
An onlooker said: “They looked absolutely thrilled to have made it
through the snow to sunny Argentina. The three girls were really
enjoying the sun and were photographed holding beautiful bunches of
flowers. They are clearly excited about spending Christmas with their
extended family.”
The family managed to fly to Buenos Aires following a difficult journey
to Paris after Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport was forced to cancel
flights due to heavy snow.
The prince said he was “glad” to be back in his Argentinean wife Maxima’s country, where they will spend time with her family.
The three children are now looking forward to a Christmas with their grandparents, aunts and uncles.
The royals are staying in the lavish Residencia El Messidor, a
faux-French style castle which sits on Lake Nahuel Huapi and belongs to
the governor of the province.
