Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton will be immortalised in plastic – in a range of royal wedding dolls for toddlers.
The pair will be joined by a small wedding party which includes the queen, Prince Philip, two guards and a corgi.
Billed as the world’s first royal wedding toy – the set also includes a
plastic black and gold carriage to carry the mini William and Kate
figures. While the Kate doll has a white wedding gown with pink bouquet
and flowers in her hair, William is in full military uniform.
Toy makers Early Learning Centre will sell the toys in February – two months ahead of the couple’s April 29 wedding.
Meanwhile Kate has become an icon for young girls, according to a survey.
Before her engagement to William last month, over half of 13 to
19-year-old girls wanted to be a footballer’s wife but now - according
to the poll conducted by Dubit Limited - more girls would swap their
lives with Kate than footballers’ wives Coleen Rooney and Victoria
Beckham.
Amira Casanova, ten, from Cardiff, said: "Kate Middleton looks lovely
in dresses when she goes to parties. She seems so nice and friendly.
"WAGs are all full of themselves and don't do anything.
"But if you are a princess you rule the world and you can also have
your own plate that people put up to decorate their home because they
love you so much."
