Zooey Deschanel is suing shoe designer Steve Madden.
The singer-and-actress is alleging the footwear giant promised her more than $1.5 million for a brand of shoes and accessories used with her name attached.
According to the lawsuit, Steve Madden agreed to produce, advertise and sell the line, in addition to a five per cent domestic royalty fee and an overall payment.
However, the $1.5 million pay deal was reduced - with Zooey's consent - although she has still not been paid.
She is also alleging the agreement stopped her from signing up to other jobs - despite being announced as the face of Rimmel cosmetics in March.
Earlier this year, the 30-year-old beauty claimed to not think about fashion too much, although she does have a list of favourite designers.
She said: "I don't really think too much about fashion. I try to go for what makes me look my best and hope someone is designing it! My style is pretty, soft, feminine and whimsical. My favourite designers are YSL, Chloe, Miu Miu and Karen Walker."
