Correction: Zimmer Knee Replacement Problems Include Knee Pain, Implant Failure, Warns Morgan and Morgan

The press release “Zimmer Knee Replacement Problems Include Knee Pain, Implant Failure, Warns Morgan and Morgan” has been updated to clarify the specific knee replacement system to which the content in the release applied. The release only pertained to the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex, and did not intend to imply that other NexGen knee replacement systems manufactured by Zimmer were predisposed to a potential failure rate of 9%, and related problems. Additionally, the release did not intend to imply that the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons conference included a two-year study of 108 patients implanted with the Zimmer NexGen knee replacement systems. Rather, the surgeons only presented this data, which was conducted on 108 patients at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, at the conference. Furthermore, the study was only performed on those implanted with the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex and its results only apply to this system, and not to all Zimmer NexGen knee replacement systems. The press release was issued on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 and can be viewed with the appropriate corrections below.

Orlando, Florida – The product liability attorneys at Morgan and Morgan are available to review claims of Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex knee implant complications, which may include knee pain, loosening of the knee replacement or knee implant failure. Research indicates that the failure rate of the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex knee implants may be as high as 9% and the actual number of knee replacement problems which necessitate a revision surgery could be even higher. If you or a loved one has experienced problems with the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex, visit http://www.forthepeople.com/zimmer-knee-replacement---11-2671.html to learn more about your legal rights and to receive a free case evaluation.

At an annual conference for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, two surgeons presented data which suggested that the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex had a higher-than-expected rate of implant loosening, which often necessitated corrective surgery. The surgeons reviewed the results of a two-year Rush University Medical Center study of 108 patients who were implanted with the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex knee replacements. This study revealed that 9% of patients required corrective surgery and 36% showed signs of knee implant loosening. Symptoms of a loose knee implant may include knee stiffness, difficulty walking, knee pain, limping, decreased joint motion, and difficulty putting weight on the knee.

Most knee implants are designed to last up to 15 years, but studies show that the Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex may fail within three years or less. One doctor who authored the study of Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex knee implants has called the product’s failure rate “horrific” and several surgeons have requested that a knee implant recall be issued. While the knee replacements have not been withdrawn from the market, the attorneys at Morgan and Morgan are interested in hearing from those who have experienced problems with this knee replacement system. If you suffered unexplained knee pain, experienced loosening of the knee replacement or needed surgery to correct a failing Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex knee implant, visit http://www.forthepeople.com/zimmer-knee-replacement---11-2671.html and complete the Free Case Review form for a no-cost evaluation of your claim.
