#8 Texas Tech Raiders will travel to face #23 Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 battle on Saturday at noon on ESPN.
Texas Tech (7-0, 3-0 Big 12) is beginning one of the hardest four-game schedules in the nation, taking on Kansas (5-2, 2-1), #1 Texas, #7 Oklahoma State and #4 Oklahoma in consecutive weekends.
The Red Raiders start this season 7-0 for the first time since 1979. They won their last two games against ranked opponents last season, defeating then-#3 Oklahoma on Nov. 17 and then-No. 21 Virginia in the Gator Bowl on Jan. 1.
Kansas came into this season with lofty expectations after a surprisingly dominant season last year. Unfortunately, the Jayhawks hit an early snag, getting upset 37-34 to then-No. 19 South Florida on Sept. 12 and suffering a 45-31 defeat against Oklahoma last Saturday.
Despite the loss, Todd Reesing was 24-for-41 for 342 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, and Dezmon Briscoe caught 12 passes for a school-record 269 yards and two touchdowns last week.
The Jayhawks' prolific offense couldn't hang with a Sooners team that compiled 674 total yards, which was the most against Kansas since Oklahoma State had 717 in 1988.
The Red Raiders are yet another prolific offense that KU will face. Led by Graham Harrell, who leads the nation in passing yards, and sensational receiver Michael Crabtree, TTU is the nation's top passing offense and second-best total offense.
