A US designer is starting a new career by turning old suitcases into portable speaker systems for iPods.
Designer Dominic Odbert purchases vintage cases from antique shops to create his 'BoomCases' which pump out up to 400 watts, are available in plastic or traditional leather designs.
He said: "Each case has its own set of acoustic characteristics, so we take this into consideration before we do anything.
"Customers are usually blown away because the cases sound awesome, last longer than an iPod and are easy to carry around."
