Asha Mandela Hopes to Win World Record with 8 Foot Dreadlocks

A South Florida woman hopes to win the Guinness Book of World Records’ new entry for the Longest Dreadlocks. Asha Mandela says that she has been growing her hair for the past 20 years. Her dreadlocks now measure 8-feet, 9-inches long.

Manela says she uses one whole bottle of shampoo and one whole bottle of conditioner every time she washes her hair. The 46-year-old adds that she “used to wash it three times a week. Now I do it once a week. It’s very tiring. Sometimes I don’t have the energy.”
