Casey Anthony Facing Mounting Evidence as DNA Samples Prove Hair Found in Trunk was from Decomposing Body

Casey Anthony, the 22-year-old Orlando mother who is being charged with first-degree murder in the suspected death of her three-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony, is staring at some damning evidence as DNA samples have returned proof that hair samples found in the trunk of her car came from a decomposing body.

Casey has insisted she is innocent of any crime and maintains that she had dropped Caylee off with a baby sitter in June but when she returned later that day both were gone. It wasn’t until a month later that Casey reported her daughter missing and told investigators about the babysitter.

Investigators soon determined she wasn’t telling the truth and arrested her for lying to investigators as well as child neglect. During that period she was considered a person of interest in the case of Caylee Anthony and the investigators soon found hair samples and DNA evidence in the trunk of her car.

It was determined that the hair came from Caylee Anthony and that there had been evidence of human decomposition in the trunk. Police also found chloroform in the vehicle and found information on Casey’s computer that indicated she was looking for information about chloroform.

Earlier this month Casey was indicted by a Florida grand jury and will be charged with first-degree murder, manslaughter and several other charges tied to her daughter’s disappearance.
