Russian Plane Lands Safely after Hijacking Scare, Man Detained

A man described as heavily intoxicated has been detained by Russian authorities after he threatened to blow up a domestic flight traveling from Adler to Moscow on Friday. The Boeing 737 was carrying 130 passengers.

Earlier reports had indicated that the man had control of the flight but it was later revealed he was quickly neutralized by others on the flight and the crew landed the plane without further incident and authorities were waiting for the man.

According to new reports the man has been identified as Oleg Vasyanovich, a convicted murderer with a history of mental illness.
