Pet Python Kills Owner in Virginia Beach

A 13-foot pet tiger python killed its owner on Tuesday night after getting out of its cage and strangling the woman inside her Virginia Beach home.

Amanda Ruth Black, 25, was found dead inside her bedroom with the pet snake moving across the floor. It is believed the python strangled her to death while she was trying to give it medicine.

According to police reports Black’s husband came home Tuesday night and found her on the floor. He called police but she was declared dead at the scene. A medical examiner determined she died of asphyxiation.

Police are continuing their investigation.
