Ashley Todd Admits Politically Motivated Attack Claims Were False.

Ashley Todd, the 20-year-old woman who reported to police that she had been robbed at a Pittsburgh ATM on Wednesday and then beaten by her assailant after he discovered she was a John McCain supporter, has admitted she made the crime up.

Todd, visiting from Texas, told police she was robbed of $60 at an ATM machine and when the attacker saw a John McCain bumper sticker on her car he began to beat her, saying “You are going to be a Barack supporter.” Todd also told police that the man then carved a “B” on the side of her face.

Holes in Todd’s story quickly evolved as her story changed with each interview. On Friday police saw no evidence of the crime after viewing the surveillance footage from the ATM. Todd will likely face charges for filing a false police report.
