AP Top 25 College Football Friday Night: #12 Boise State Faces San Jose State in WAC Showdown
The Boise State Broncos (6-0, 2-0) will face off against the San Jose State Spartans (5-2, 3-0) on Friday night in a battle between the last two undefeated teams in the WAC. For the Broncos, Friday night’s game is yet another test in their quest for a BCS birth while the Spartans are chasing their first ever conference title.
While the Spartans have put up 30 and 31 points in their last two wins they may have a harder time finding the endzone on Friday night as the Broncos have the second best scoring defense in college football, allowing just 10.5 points per game.
The Spartans defense is nothing to ignore either though as they rank 21st in the country, allowing 16.6 points per game. They surrender an average of 185.9 passing yards a game but will be faced with the prospect of dealing with Broncos freshman quarterback Kellen Moore who is on pace to throw for nearly 3,200 yards. Moore has tossed 13 TDs this year while seeing just three of his 170 pass attempts picked off.
It will likely be an aerial game for both sides as neither the Broncos nor Spartans feature their running game but both have solid rushing defensive units.
Game time for Friday night’s match-up is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
