AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #4 Oklahoma Sooners Run Over Kansas State Wildcats in Big 12 Matchup

DeMarco Murray rushed for 107 yards and two TDs and had 63 yards receiving and another two touchdowns, Chris Brown carried the ball 20 times for 140 yards and a touchdown and Sam Bradford took it easy throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns as the #4 Oklahoma Sooners (7-1, 3-1) ran all over the Kansas State Wildcats (4-4, 1-3) 58-35 in Big 12 action on Saturday.

All but three of the Sooners points came in the first half as they scored at will against Kansas in the opening 30 minutes of play. The Wildcats didn’t do themselves any favors either as they turned the ball over five times in the game.

The Sooners jumped up 14-0 on TD runs from Murray and Bradford and after the Wildcats cut their deficit to 14-7 Oklahoma put another two TDs on the board with a Bradford to Murray 15-yard touchdown pass and a Brown 11-yard TD run.

Trailing 28-7 Kansas State shocked the Sooners with three unanswered touchdowns as Josh Freeman threw a 77-yard TD to Brandon Banks, a 29-yarder to Jeron Mastrud and a 9-yarder to Deon Murphy to tie the game at 28-28 in the second quarter.

Oklahoma then went off, scoring four touchdowns in the final 6:26 of the second quarter. Bradford tossed his second TD to Murray, a 10-yarder to grab the lead back and then Bradford found Jermaine Gresham on a 29-yard touchdown pass. Murray then found the endzone for the fourth time in the half on a 4-yard run and then Ryan Broyles returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown to give the Sooners a 55-28 lead at halftime.

With Kansas State couldn’t get their offense going in the second half the Sooners chose to keep theirs at bay as they kept the game on the ground to keep the clock running.

Oklahoma will host Nebraska next week while Kansas State travels to face Kansas in an in-state rivalry match-up.
