AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #9 Georgia Bulldogs Outgun #11 LSU Tigers in Big SEC Match-Up

Knowshon Moreno carried the ball 21 times for 163 yards and a touchdown, Matt Stafford was 17/26 passing for 249 yards and a pair of touchdowns, A.J. Green had three receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown and the #9 Georgia Bulldogs (7-1, 4-1) collected three interceptions and returned two for touchdowns in a 52-38 victory over the LSU Tigers (5-2, 3-2) in a key SEC battle on Saturday.

It was an interception that put the Bulldogs on the board in the first quarter as Darryl Gamble picked off Jarrett Lee and returned it 40-yards for a touchdown 20 seconds into the game. Lee made amends for the interception with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell to even the score but the Bulldogs reclaimed the lead on a Fred Munzenmaier one-yard TD run.

The Bulldogs put the first points of the second quarter as well as Stafford hit Kenneth Harris on a 5-yard toss to push their advantage to 21-7. LSU put the next 10 points on the board as Colt David booted a 51-yard field goal and Charles Scott scored on a 2-yard run to pull within 21-17 but Blair Walsh sent the Bulldogs into the half ahead 24-17 after connecting on a 50-yard field goal.

Georgia dominated the early stages of the third quarter as Stafford and Green hooked up on a 49-yard touchdown pass and Moreno busted a 68-yard touchdown run to put the Tigers in a 38-17 hole. LSU tried to stay within range as Scott scored his second TD of the game on a one-yard run but Stafford found the endzone once again, this time on a 7-yard keeper in the fourth to move in front 45-24.

After the Tigers got back into the endzone on a Lee to Keiland Williams 6-yard touchdown pass LSU got the ball back and had a shot to cut their deficit to 7 but Lee was picked off by Gamble once again and e went 53-yards for the clinching TD.

Georgia will face the Florida Gators next week while LSU looks to bounce back against Tulane.
