AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #2 Alabama Crimson Tide Pull Away from Overmatched Tennessee Volunteers in SEC Clash

John Parker Wilson was 17/24 passing for 188 yards and added a rushing touchdown, Glen Coffee carried the ball 19 times for 78 yards and a score and Roy Upchurch added 86 yards on the ground and a TD as the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0) knocked off the Tennessee Volunteers (3-5, 1-4) 29-9 on Saturday night in a matchup of SEC teams heading in opposite directions.

Alabama limited the Volunteers to just 36 yards rushing on the night and held them to ten first downs.

The game was tight through the first quarter as the Tide managed to put a pair of field goals on the board and the Volunteers settled for a single field goal to put the score at 6-3.

Late in the second quarter Coffee gave Alabama some breathing room with a 3-yard run and at halftime the Crimson Tide were up 13-3.

Leigh Tiffin booted his third field goal of the game early in the third quarter and when Wilson kept the ball on a sneak from a yard out Alabama had a comfortable 22-3 lead even after their two-point attempt failed.

Upchurch wrapped up the scoring for the Tide with a 4-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

Alabama will face Arkansas State next week while Tennessee travels to South Carolina.
