Anne Pressly, News Anchor Attacked in Arkansas, Dies from Injuries

Anne Pressly, the 26-year-old news anchor who was savagely attacked in her Little Rock, Arkansas home nearly a week ago, has died from her injuries.

A statement was released by Pressly’s parents on Saturday that read, “It was our hope, as was yours, that Anne would overcome the injuries inflicted upon her in the brutal attack at her home. We were with her in her last moments, and although our hearts are broken, we are at the same time comforted by our faith knowing that Anne is now with our heavenly father."

Pressly was found in her home by her mother after she failed to answer her telephone early Monday morning. Pressly was unresponsive and suffering from severe trauma to her head and upper body and rushed to the hospital.

Her death came as a surprise after doctors had said the swelling in her brain had gone down and her vital signs had been returning to normal.

There have been no funeral arrangements announced.
