The Texas Longhorns remain the unanimous #1 team in the country according to the AP Top 25 Week 9 rankings after holding off Oklahoma State on Saturday while the Alabama Crimson Tide and Penn State Nittany Lions remain #2 and #3 in the poll.
While the Longhorns survived a close battle with the Cowboys on Sunday the Crimson Tide had little trouble against Tennessee and Penn State’s defense was too much for Ohio State.
Oklahoma remains at #4 after blasting Kansas State on Saturday and the Florida Gators held at #5 with an easy win over the Kentucky Wildcats in an SEC battle.
Texas Tech jumped two spots to #6 with an impressive win over the Kansas Jayhawks and remain unbeaten in the 2008 campaign while the USC Trojans dropped a spot to #7 following their offensive struggles against Pac-10 opponent Arizona.
The Georgia Bulldogs moved up one spot to #8 after going on the road and having their way with the LSU Tigers and their followed by the Oklahoma State Cowboys who fell a few spots after their battle with the Texas Longhorns.
Utah rounds out the AP Top 10 as the Utes remain unbeaten and continue their quest for a BCS bowl birth. The Boise State Broncos also moved closer to their second BCS bowl birth, moving up to the #11 spot in the AP Top 25 after handling San Jose State on Friday night to stay undefeated.
