NFL Scores Week 8: Clinton Portis and Jason Campbell Lead Washington Redskins Past Winless Detroit Lions

Jason Campbell was 23/28 passing for 328 yards and a touchdown, Clinton Portis rushed for 126 yards, Santana Moss had 140 yards receiving and a TD and the Washington Redskins (6-2) defense held the Detroit Lions (0-7) to just 274 yards of total offense in a 25-17 win on Sunday.

Detroit actually had a 10-6 lead at the half after Rudi Johnson scored on an 11-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and Jason Hanson booted a 43-yard field goal but things changed in the second half.

After Shaun Suisham pulled the Redskins to within 10-9 with his third field goal of the game Campbell hooked up with Moss on a 50-yard touchdown pass to give Washington a 16-10 lead. That lead was extended to 22-10 in the fourth when Moss took a punt back 80-yards for a touchdown.

The Lions climbed back to within 22-17 after Calvin Johnson caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dan Orlovsky with 6:39 on the clock but Suisham booted his fourth field goal of the game with just under two minutes left to give the Redskins the eight-point advantage.
