NFL Scores Week 8: Drew Brees Has Huge Game as New Orleans Saints Knock Off San Diego Chargers in London

Drew Brees threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns, Lance Moore had 90 yards receiving and a TD and Deuce McAllister collected 55 yards on the ground and a touchdown as the New Orleans Saints (4-4) held off the San Diego Chargers (3-5) 37-32 in a game played in London on Sunday.

After both teams settled for field goals in the first quarter the London crowd got an offensive show in the second quarter as the Saints put 21 points on the board as Brees tossed a 12-yard touchdown to Devery Henderson and a 30-yard TD to Moore while McAllister scored on a one-yard run. Chargers QB Philip Rivers did his part to keep San Diego in the game though as he hit LaDainian Tomlinson on a 12-yard toss and Antonio Gates on a 12-yarder.

The Saints pushed their lead to 30-17 early in the third quarter when Brees found Mark Campbell on a one-yard pass but Nate Kaeding cut the score to 30-20 with a 24-yard field goal.

Mike Karney pushed the Saints lead to 37-20 in the fourth with a one-yard run but the Chargers managed to cut their deficit to seven after Kaeding kicked another field goal and Vincent Jackson hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass from Rivers.

Late in the game the Saints took a safety rather than give the Chargers a chance to block a punt or return the kick, leaving the score at 37-32.
