UCA Shooting Leaves Two Students Dead, One Injured

A Shooting at the University of Central Arkansas Sunday afternoon left two students dead and another injured. The shooting happened just outside a Arkansas Hall and the Snow Fine Arts Center at 9:22 p.m.

One student died at the scene. Another, later identified as an 18-year-old male, died at Conway Regional Medical Center. A 19-year-old male was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and released from the hospital.

The shooting prompted a lockdown of the Conway campus and all classes on Monday were cancelled.

According to reports, there were multiple shooters. A spokesman for the campus police says one person was detained for questioning but has not been arrested. “At this time we do have some pretty good leads,” said Lt. Rhonda Swindle.
