8-Year-Old Killed at Gun Show after Losing Control of Uzi

An eight-year-old Connecticut boy accidentally shot and killed himself on Sunday while firing an Uzi submachine gun at the Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club in Westfield, Mass.

Christopher Bizilj was firing the gun under the supervision of a certified instructor when he lost control of the weapon and was hit in the head. According to a police statement Bizilj “was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury.”

Bizilj was rushed to the Baystate Medical Center nearby but died from his injuries.
