Senator Ted Stevens Found Guilty on All Counts in Corruption Trial

Alaskan senator Ted Stevens, 84, has been found guilty on all felony counts in a corruption trial that targeted the Republican for gifts and home renovations he received from an oil company.

Stevens, the longest serving Republican in the U.S. Senate, was found guilty on all seven charges. Prosecutors argued that Stevens accepted the renovations to his house and other gifts from VECO Corp. in exchange for favorable legislation.

The senator is now facing five years for each count but probably won’t serve but a fraction of that time.
